You'll need: drill, drill bits, Uni-bit or stepped bit, masking tape, rivet gun, ruler or tape measure, and a marker or pencil.

1. It is very important to first familiarize yourself with your set of bodywork and how it mounts on your bike. Begin by removing all the stock bodywork and any other parts that need to be removed, such as lights and mirrors, etc. If you are going to use an aftermarket fairing bracket now is the time to install it. But take care to note if its mounting points are the same as the stock unit. All Attack Race Bodies sets are designed for use with stock fairing brackets. If an aftermarket bracket is used it may not line up with the mounting marks on the upper fairing. Before drilling any holes or installing any fasteners you should test fit all the parts on the bike. Try to get a general idea of how all the parts go together.

2. It is a good idea to begin with the upper fairing.

NOTE: Make sure your bike is straight, including frame, subframe, and fairing stay.
If any of these parts are bent, the bodywork may not line up correctly. Drill the mounting holes marked on the upper with the correct size bit for your hardware. We recommend a uni-bit, as it tends to make a nice hole and does not bite and tear the fiberglass. There are usually 2 side mounting points and 2 fairing stay mounting points as well as the windscreen holes. Some models may have more. Drill all holes in the Upper and mount to bike.

3.Test fit the Lower (belly pan) to the Upper. Check for proper fit. On the 04-05 GSXR750 it may be necessary to trim part of the lower to clear the radiator. Drill the mounting holes in the Lower near the rear of the part that mounts to the frame. Generally there are 2 mounting points marked. At this point it may be a good idea to have another person help. You must fit the Lower to the Upper and secure with some good masking tape - we like the blue painter tape. Ensure you have a nice tight fit and that there is as little gap as possible between the Upper and Lower. Use the tape to secure both sides of the Upper and Lower. Have a friend or a bored girlfriend help you at this stage. Use plenty of tape and get the fit as close as possible. Next, install mounting screws in rear of lower.

4. Fastener installation-  With the Lower taped up to the Upper we must now mark the location of the fasteners. Most sets will use 3 on each side, some take only 2 on each side such as the 06 GSXR 600 and the ZX10Rs. A few sets have these points pre-marked, such as the 05 ZX6R. Use a tape measure and evenly space the 2 or 3 marks for the rivets. Measure the space between holes as well as the distance from the hole to the edge of the part. Do not mark too close to the edge as the fasteners may tear off. About 1/2 inch is a good distance. You actually don't have to be all that precise, but one very important Note: Take time to look at what is behind the holes you mark! You don't want to mount a fastener in front of the radiator sides or a hose or whatever else may impede the fastener from properly working. Mark one side of the Upper and Lower and insure you are clear of any obstructions behind your marks. Next try to match the measurements on the other side. It may be necessary to change the marks on the other side because of obstructions behind the marks you have made.

Once you have marked all the points, use a small bit (1/8 inch or so) and drill all the holes while the parts are still on the bike. Drill through both the Upper and Lower. This is where a good tight tape job helps. Be sure not the drill too far! You don't want to punch a hole in your radiator or hose! NOTE - We are only drilling small pilot holes for the actual fasteners at this stage!  Do not drill holes for rivets at this point! Once all holes are drilled, remove tape and unbolt the Upper and Lower from the bike.

Now, the part with no flange is the part that will get the fastener and the part with the flange is the part that will get the spring or receptacle riveted to it. Get the correct size bit for your chosen fastener. This stage is important. Sloppy holes mean sloppy fasteners. A tight fit is the best fit. Drill unflanged part for fasteners. Slip the fasteners through and use whatever type of retainer that is supplied with your fasteners to secure them to the part. Usually this is a thin plastic washer or some type of metal washer. Next take a look at your spring or receptacle. Grab the proper size bit for the rivets it uses. One very easy way to install these parts is to make a pattern. You can use a piece of thin scrap metal, plastic, or even paper. Place the spring or receptacle over the pattern material and mark the 3 holes with a pen or marker. Next drill them out with the size drill bit you are going to use for the rivets.

Place the pattern over the hole you have drilled on the flanged part ( be it Upper or Lower ). Line up the center hole in the pattern with the hole in the part. Mark the 2 rivet holes. Repeat for all fastener holes. Next drill the 2 outer holes in each location with the proper size bit for the rivets. Then drill the center hole with the same size bit you used for the fasteners (other part be it Upper or Lower). Rivet on all springs or receptacles. That's it! You're done with the fasteners!

5. Test fit the tail section. Remove and drill all mounting holes with the proper size bits for your hardware. Install tail section. If you are using an Attack undertail, test fit that once the tail is mounted and drill and mount. The 05/06 GSXR 1000 Undertail should be installed before the tail section is mounted. Some Undertails such as the 04/05 ZX10R should be installed with fasteners such as those used on the Upper and Lower.

6. Test fit the front fender. Drill and mount.

7. Test fit your wind screen, mount to Upper using hardware and grommets supplied with your screen or bike. You should have already drilled the screen hole as per Step 1.

8. Stand back and admire! Wow, looks good huh?

9. Paint! Send your stuff off to your local painter. Or sand back with some 400 grit paper and have at it!

10. Go ride!
